Cherokee Junior High teacher Tammie Hall applied for and received the Power Up! Program for her 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at Cherokee School. This is a brand new 9-week health education program for middle school students that includes nutrition education, cooking/tasting activities, physical activity, and self-esteem builders. The program will be funded with $525 from Kansas Team Nutrition to purchase food and supplies for weekly classroom activities and to host a wellness event. We’re excited to have the opportunity to try this program and we congratulate Mrs. Hall!
