Present were: Cara Kubler, Carol Denham, Mr. Squire, Mary Geier, Tammie Hall, Marta Ward, Stefanie Lynn, Sandra Martinie, Donna Renn, Trish Wyckoff and Becky Martin
Meeting started at 5:05
• Pennies for PTO/Spring Fundraiser: We voted to not have a spring fundraiser or Pennies for PTO this year.
• Dr. Seuss Day cake for grades K-8: Celebration will be on Tuesday, March 2. The 6, 7, 8 would like their cake at lunch time. 3 large sheet cakes ordered from Shaunda Ross. PTO…Need bowls and spoons.
• Parent Teacher conferences for March: They will be Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2: PTO will buy sub sandwiches for each night. PTO will also take care of forks, plates, cups, pop, and napkins for each night. Teachers are asked to sign up for bringing a side dish. Cara will put a sign up sheet in the workroom.
• Update on Ron’s receipts: We deposited 17,000. We will send in another 10,000 this month. Thank you to Mrs Geier’s class for totaling these for us. Thanks Mrs. M. A. Horgan for keeping track of our points and sending the receipts in.
• Update on Boxtop: We are mailing off over $500.00 worth of boxtops and over 1,500 points for soup labels!
• Southeast Scholarship and After-prom party donations: We voted to donate $25.00 to the SE scholarship and $25.00 to the SE after-prom party.
• Trees for South side of elementary building: Westar Electric is going to cut down the trees on the south side of the sidewalk by the elementary part of our building. We voted to plant some trees on the North side of the fence.
Becky Martin talked to Ed Thompson and he estimated we could purchase a 1 ½ inch (diameter) Maple tree from Carla’s Country Gardens for $150.00 or 2 inch for $200.00 (and so on) and he would plant and mulch it. He needs to know in the next couple of weeks if we are interested.
