Forensics Team Captures 2nd at League Tournament

Members of the Southeast Forensics Team captured 2nd place at the Three Rivers League forensics tournament on Thursday, March 7.  Of the team’s 19 entries, 10 advanced to finals.  Three new students qualified for the state forensics tournament, as well.

Individual results are as follows: Megan Colvin- 1st place, Prose and 5th place, Improvised Duet Acting, Julie Martin- 1st place, Extemporaneous Speaking, Peyton Simpson- 3rd place, Serious Solo Acting and 5th place, Improvised Duet Acting, D’Kaiya Hutto- 2nd place, Poetry and 4th place, Serious Solo Acting, Robert Graham- 2nd place, Extemporaneous Speaking and 6th place, Informative, Rowdy King- 5th place, Extemporaneous Speaking, Lillian Green- 6th place, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Eric Tompkins- 4th place, Humorous Solo Acting.

Qualifying for the state forensics tournament were Megan Colvin- 1st place, Prose, Julie Martin- 1st place, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Robert Graham- 2nd place, Extemporaneous Speaking.  Previous state qualifiers this season include D’Kaiya Hutto, Poetry and Elizabeth Scott, Original Oratory.
