Final Destination Field Trip to Science City at Union Station, Kansas City!

We will depart Southeast at 7:00 a.m. Our bus route will run one hour early, so make sure you meet the bus at the following times, or be at Southeast before 7:00 a.m.:

McCune School: 6:10 a.m

West Mineral City Hall: 6:25 a.m.

Weir School: 6:40 a.m.

Cherokee School: 6:50 a.m.

We will see the Real Pirate, a National Geographic Exhibition, at 9:30 a.m.

After the Pirate exhibit, students will eat lunch at Harvey’s, a restaurant in Union Station. Each student will receive $10 to eat at this restaurant. Most burgers and fries, sandwiches with a side, chicken tenders, etc., are $8.50 – 9.50. Soft drinks are $2.35, so I would recommend students drink water with their meal. If they wish to purchase a soft drink, they’ll probably need to bring extra money.

Our afternoon will include exploring Science City, and, if time, we’ll see the model train exhibit in Union Station!

We will depart Science City at 4:00 p.m. , stop at fast food for dinner (students will receive $8 for this meal), and arrive at Southeast about 7:30 p.m., Cherokee at 7:30 p.m., Weir at 7:45 p.m., West Mineral at 7:40 p.m., and McCune at 7:50 p.m.

We look forward to providing this opportunity for our students, and we will send home more information about our trip to Big Brutus next Friday. Next week we will travel to Greenbush on Monday, and have regular classes on Tuesday through Thursday!
