Paint the Town Red Day is held annually each year to celebrate the first home football game for the Pittsburg State Gorillas. This year the special event was held from September 4 to September 7.
Donna Jacobs participated in the contest by decorating her office to celebrate the occasion. Her office theme was “Gus turns 90”. She asked the students that were in the Southeast Jr. High art class to send Gus birthday cards. The students replied with enthusiasm. She put them up in her office, along with a multi-layered cake with Gus the Gorilla popping out of the top.
She ended up taking third overall.
