SJHS Lady Lancer Basketball team community service
SJHS Lady Lancers Basketball team huddled together this holiday season to score from the heart for those who really Count.
In our weekly team meeting, the Lady Lancers wanted to get involved with their school, friends, and community to make a difference this holiday season. Our school project consisted of Jr. High girls putting their excitement and creative minds together in order to host a dance.
The Lady Lancers spent Saturday decorating for the Big Basket “Ball” Dance. The Ladies would like to give a big Thank You out to the Booster Club for letting them borrow Christmas lights and snowflakes for decorating. Thank you to Linda Ridings and Billie Buffington for helping chaperone the events with Mrs. Ball.
The Girls were able to raise $140.00 that will be given back to the Special Athletic fund. The joyous night was spent with great friends, Christmas music, and colorful lights.
The Community Service Project Sunday really touched the hearts of the Girls and the residents of the Medical Lodge of Columbus. The Lancer Ladies made homemade Christmas Cards to “Deck Their Halls” with Christmas spirit. The Lady Lancers were ringing in the “ Joy to the World” as they sang “Santa Claus is Coming To Town” and “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree”. The Lady Lanced enjoyed celebrating the holiday season with cookies and punch during a game or two of B-I-N-G-O. Lastly, the Lady Lancers gathered up hand in hand with Medical Lodge residents to sing “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”
~ Merry Christmas! To Our Friends, Family, Community and School District from the SJHS Lady Lancer Basketball team!
