Nabors wins Southeast Spelling Bee
The Cherokee Elementary/Southeast Junior High Spelling Bee was held on January 31st. Each grade level, from second grade through eighth grade, sent two representatives to the school spelling bee. The top three spellers in the school spelling bee were:
1st Place – Robyn Nabors 8th grade
2nd Place – William Best 4th grade
3rd Place – Braden Hale 5th grade
Our top three school winners went on to represent us in the Crawford County Spelling Bee. The contest was held at Pittsburg High School on February 6th. While all of our spellers did an awesome job, we are especially proud that Miss Nabors came in third place. Miss Nabors will now be the alternate speller for the Kansas Sunflower State Spelling Bee held in Hutchinson, Kansas in March.
