Paper towers built by SJHS 7th graders

Mr. Wilderman’s 7th grade Problem Solving & Engineering class built “broadcast towers” earlier today. The students each received the same amount of paper and masking tape, and a paper clip (for the antenna). They then had to build the tallest tower they could within a certain time frame.

The tower built by Emily Grant and Katie Bitner was the tallest built on Tuesday, but Mr. Wilderman said that still doesn’t make theirs the winner.

On Wednesday each tower has to stand on its own for at least 10 seconds. The tallest tower that stands for 10 seconds will win the competition.
