Dear Parents/Families,

I have enjoyed visiting with many families over the last two days during conferences.  I hope you enjoyed visiting with your child’s teacher and found it informative.

The first quarter of the year has flown by. As more and more activities are getting scheduled I want to share some information with you about some upcoming events.

Halloween parade/party: All classes (prek-4th) will participate in the parade. The parade will be Oct. 31st at 1:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. After the parade, the students will go back to their classroom for their Halloween party. (Please send a costume with your child on Halloween and they will have time to “dress up” before the parade. If you want to help your child get ready for the parade, please be at the school at 1:15. I will have additional staff members in the classrooms to help students with costumes.)

School carnival: The carnival will be held Thursday, Nov.13th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The school staff organizes this event and the PTO provides supper that can be purchased at a reasonable price. Your child received a letter yesterday that explained the ticket sales, royalty and prizes. They also received 5 books of tickets to sell. The money earned from the carnival supports students in activities such as visits to the pumpkin patch, bowling treats for reading counts, technology, Dr. Seuss Day activities and classroom rewards.

I will be sending out a letter the first of each month, starting in November, to give you an overview of the school’s monthly activities. I hope you will find this helpful as you plan your family’s schedule.
