8th Grade Students Learn About the Food They Eat

The picture shows Mr. Sutton’s 8th Grade class creating the “Beef Wholesale Cut Diagram” using play dough. It is one of the many “hands-on” projects students in this course experience when learning about where food comes from among other Agriculture subjects.

This marks the second year that SE Jr. High students have been traveling to the high school for one hour each day to learn about the different electives and career pathways offered at the high school level.  Each SEJH student spends nine weeks in Mrs. Witt’s Business class as well as nine weeks in Mr. Sutton’s Agriculture class.  Because of this format, students are able to not only get a taste of high school, but set themselves up to have more elective options when they enter high school by taking introductory level classes as 8th graders.
