Dear Parents & Families,

April is here and the 3rd and 4th grade students are still going strong taking Kansas Assessments. The students are working in the areas of English Language Arts and the performance task this month.

We had our safe room groundbreaking last week. This is an exciting time for our students and communities. Safety is number one for our children!

Teachers have scheduled end of year field trips as we only have 6 more weeks of school left. That is hard to believe but it is upon us. Below you will see a list of activities that will take us to the end of the year so you can plan your schedules accordingly. Hope this is helpful to you.

April Activities:
4/9 Kindergarten end of year field trip to Pittsburg
2nd grade end of year field trip to Joplin
4/13 Spring program at high school 6:30 p.m.
4/16 4th to Columbus for Earth Day activities
*4/21 Kindergarten RC bowling leave 12:30 (need socks)
*4/23 1st and 2nd grades RC bowling leave 12:30 (need socks)

May Activities:
5/1 In-service; no school for students
*5/4 3rd & 4th RC bowling leave 12:30 (need socks)
5/6 1st grade end of year field trip to Welch
5/8 4th grade end of year field trip to Ft. Scott
3rd grade end of year field trip to Joplin
5/12 Awards Assembly (morning) and Field Day (afternoon)
5/14 Make-up day for Awards Assembly and Field Day
5/15 Last Day of school for students

*treats will be provided by SES PTO & carnival funds
