Forensics @ Girard HS

Members of the Southeast Speech and Debate Team saw their first competition of the season on January 23 when they competed at the Girard High School forensics tournament.  Individual results are as follows:

Brody Newswander
4th place, Prose

Will Chrysler
4th place, Impromptu
3rd place, United States Extemp

Ashleigh Fleck
5th place, Oration
1st place, Informative (NEW STATE QUALIFIER)
1st place, International Extemp (NEW STATE QUALIFIER)

We had a small entry at the tournament, which is typical for the first tournament of the season.  We still managed competed well and saw nearly half of our entries advance to finals.  It was a good day and now we’re ready to move on to our next tournament.
