Six Southeast FCCLA students qualify for State
All six Southeast High School students competing at Wednesday’s Southeast District STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) competition qualified for State. The State competition will be held April 3-5 in Wichita.
Seniors Ariel Leone and Melanie Hartman got a Gold in Illustrated Talk.
Seniors Will Chrysler and Courtney Ross got a Gold in Food Innovations.
And junior Shi Ann Crumpacker and sophomore Alaina Martinie got Silver in Interior Design.
“It was great to see all of the students hard work pay off and their reactions when they realized that they were going to state,” said Southeast FCCLA adviser Sonora Jones. “We have been working on these projects for months now so seeing their passion and hard work being rewarded was a reward in-itself. Our district did great as a whole and will be representing Southeast Kansas well at state.”
Mrs. Jones took the competitors and four other students to the District conference at Pittsburg State on February 3, 2016.
