The Southeast Lancers
are still looking for their
first victory, but they’ve
found momentum after
putting up their best offensive performance of
the season in a 36-20 defeat
to Erie last week.
The Lancers (0-6, 0-2
Class 2A District 1) earned
their highest point total
of the season, and after
not scoring in the first
four games, Southeast has
now scored touchdowns in
back-to-back games.
The Lancers earned
their first lead of the season in the second quarter
of Friday’s contest when
Colton Lawrence hit Aden
Smith with a passing
touchdown. The Lancers
held the lead until halftime but surrendered the
lead in the third quarter.
Southeast continues to
find success through the
air. Lawrence passed for 84
yards in the game, and the
Lancers have now gained
704 yards as a team this
season, averaging 117.3
yards. Teagen Warner led
the Lancers with three
receptions for 22 yards.
Southeast resumes district play at 7 p.m. Friday at
home against Uniontown.
The Eagles (1-5, 1-1)
earned their first victory
of the season last week,
winning a 59-20 home
contest against Northeast.
Uniontown scored the
first 36 points of the game.
The Eagle offense
rushed for 251 yards in
the victory, and the Eagles
average 62.2 yards on the
ground, scoring at a clip
of 12 points per game.
Uniontown beat the
Lancers 28-6 in last year’s
game at Uniontown.
