CHEROKEE – On Monday, August 12, all USD 247 staff were greeted by the Southeast High School Cheer Squad and their fearless leader, Michelle Dayton. The Southeast Food Service Staff prepared a welcome-back breakfast consisting of biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, and a fruit medley. Thank you Food Service Staff! District administration then introduced all new staff and welcomed back all returning staff across the district. 

For our team-building exercise, staff drew numbers to build 9 teams. Each team was tasked with selecting a team name and making a sign to hold while entering the west gym. Various “Olympic” stations were set up in the gym along one side and mirrored on the other side. Two teams competed, with one team member at each station. Each station activity had to be completed before the next station could begin. Activities were: Basketball hoop shooting, corn hole, math problem, locker combination lock, tricycle, water bottle toss, tissue pull, ping pong bucket toss, and football toss. It was a lot of fun!

Gold, silver, and bronze medals were presented to the winning teams.

After our back-to-school staff assembly, all staff were invited to a wonderful taco bar lunch at the First Baptist Church of Cherokee. This is something the church has done for many years for our Southeast staff and it is something we look forward to and truly appreciate. Thank you First Baptist Church of Cherokee!
