Summer EBT Still Available for Those Qualified

Summer EBT is available to all Kansas school children who are income-eligible to receive free and reduced-price meals during the school year. While many children were auto-issued for these benefits, plenty more can receive it, but only through an application. This program provides $120 in grocery assistance during the summer months when school meals are not available for income-eligible students to receive free and reduced-priced meals at school.

To receive these benefits, an application must be submitted by September 11 through the Department for Children and Families (DCF) website at www.dcfapp.kees.ks.gov. You will be asked to provide your name, your child’s name, school, date of birth, and address. You will also be asked to report your household’s income. To apply, you do not need to provide any other documents or information, including your social security number or proof of citizenship. You will need to create an account with DCF before you can apply. Benefits will be distributed within 15 days of an application being submitted.

More information can be found through DCF’s Summer EBT fact sheet, found here.
