SHS Students Tour Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

On October 16th, Mrs Evitts, Mrs. Gibson, and Mr. Butler took 30 students to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR. Their guided tour was “The Art of Architecture” where they were given a tour of the exterior of the Bachman-Wilson House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright as well as the architecture of the museum itself with a sneak peak of some of the new structures being added to the museum campus. After a lunch break, teachers and students were invited to see a temporary exhibit “Knowing the West” as a complementary self guided tour. They were also able to visit much the museum’s permanent collections as well as the museum store and coffee bar before heading home. The following students participated in our museum adventure: Addi Hildebrandt, Brooklyn Edwards, Daphne Tavernaro, Kymbree Martin, Ethan Becker, Kilynn Banke, Macie Herron, Sandra Robinson, AJ Gray, Ash Stark, Jackie Robinson, Cadence Overman, Sienna Collins, Kaitlyn Patton, Katelyn Utley, Micheal Smith, Ryan Sossman, Eliz White, Kimber Kratz, Callie Hudson, Leah Reynolds, Rowdy Robertson, Hudson Locke, Emma Call, Emma Denham, Jesus Lopez Jr., Hannah Collins, Ashton Rahe, Shaylene Sossman, and AJ Hudson. Several of these students collected content for an upcoming Southeast Scoop episode while there, so look forward to watching for that! Hudson Locke also documented our trip for the yearbook. Several students will also be discussing what they have learned about architecture in future physics classes. Mrs. Evitts was stopped repeatedly by museum staff to brag on how well her students were behaving! A great day was had by all!
