Southeast High School TRIO participants attended TRIO Day on October 27th, at Labette Community College. The event began with a College Planning Conference where students were able to meet and speak with 30 college representatives and recruiters. They received information on admissions, programs offered, cost of attending, and financial assistance. Participants then gained insight into the transition from high school to college, as well as student life, with a TRIO alumni panel.

The highlight of the event was featured speaker Chet Kuplen, CEO of Sports in Kansas, who presented “Think Before You Post” – The Power of Social Media. Mr. Kuplen gave eye opening and relevant information on social media etiquette, online reputation, digital citizenship, online criminal activity, cyberbullying, communicating without your phone, viral posting, texting and driving, networking and much more!
