CHEROKEE – There are few roles in any community more important than that of a school board member.  Board members play a critical role in the success of a school district as a whole.   Being a board member allows you to lead, serve, and advocate on behalf of the district, students, and staff.  

USD 247 currently has positions 4, 5, and 6 open for election.  The filing deadline is June 2.  To be eligible for one of these positions you must reside in the district in Positions 4, 5, or 6 (see the attached map) and be willing to dedicate a small amount of your time each month (usually only a couple of hours).
