USD 247 Receives Patterson Family Foundation Grant!

CHEROKEE – During this past summer, Dr. Brad Miner and SHS VoAg teacher, Mike Lawson, wrote a grant and submitted it to the Patterson Family Foundation. We learned this week that it was approved! The grant, in the amount of $289,824, will be used to support the modernization of CTE programming and the construction of a multi-zone greenhouse at Southeast High School. In detail, this means grant funds will cover specific core equipment upgrades, including new welding and electrical training tools, a three-zone greenhouse with hydroponics and aquaponics systems, modern PPE, and instructional materials tied to industry-recognized certifications. Congratulations, Mr. Lawson!
