SHS Art Students Visit Nelson-Atkins Museum
On Thursday October 9th, Mrs. Evitts, assisted by Mrs. Gibson, Miss Rickey, and Mr.Renn, took 33 students to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. There, they were given tours of the exterior of the museum, sculpture garden, and the museum grounds. They were able to see a variety of artworks while there and were given multiple compliments on their good behavior and respectfulness. It is so important for students to have cultural experiences like this because it encourages a wide range of cognitive, social, and emotional skills, including problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. A wonderful day was had by all!
