What is a school board member? They are everyday citizens, business owners, retirees, laborers, educators, engineers, farmers, parents, and grandparents. They are who we are. They are neighbors and friends, and we have elected and entrusted them to govern our school district and to do what is best for kids to help them succeed, and that is exactly what they do! School board members volunteer their time…time away from family and work…to review policy, manage the budget, and to discuss and make the tough decisions that affect approximately 420 students and 110 staff members of USD 247.

January is School Board Appreciation month. Please reach out to a board member and let them know how much you appreciate them and everything they do for students, staff, and community. They would love to hear from you!
