Zayne Gabern was selected to the Kansas High School Athletic Association’s Cross Country Academic All-State team. In order to achieve this honor, the athlete must be a junior or senior, have a 3.75 GPA or higher, and finish in the top 20 at the State meet. Zayne finished 16th at the State meet in his fastest time of his career on the Wamego course, 17:23. The senior also holds the school record in the 5K, running a 16:25. “Zayne has had an incredible career at Southeast, and he left his mark not only with his accolades, but by impressing his work ethic, leadership, and energy onto his younger teammates,” Coach Julie Jones said.
