Southeast High School senior, Macie Herron, signs to officially accept an offer to join the Pittsburg State University Cheerleading program for the 2026-27 season. Pitt Cheer supports Gorilla Athletics and competes annually at UCA College Cheer Nationals in Orlando, Florida.  

Macie is a four-year letterman on the Southeast Cheer Squad under Coach Michelle Dayton. She has been a pivotal part of the squad’s leadership, earning the role of co-captain in her sophomore season and captain in her junior and senior years.  

“Macie’s journey is a coach’s dream. She poured her heart, sweat, and countless hours into not only supporting others, but also developing into the athlete, teammate, and leader that she is – and through the process, she found her own voice! In addition to leadership skills, she displayed maturity, an incredible work ethic, and a fierce dedication to her squad being all in for 4 years. She was also a vital part of our first ever State Game Day Competition team that earned a 6th place medal. I feel ery fortunate to have been her coach and am incredibly proud and excited to watch her continue her journey as a collegiate cheerleader!” Coach Michelle
