FCCLA members Deaven Thompson, Alexandrea Craddock, and Jacob Zortz attended Cherokee Jr. High, Mccune Elementary and Weir Elementary to present a bully free workshop during their morning collaboration time. Their presentation consisted of a powerpoint and hands- on activities to portray the causes and effects of bullying and violence . Being active in FCCLA has allowed these students to get involved and make a difference in their community.
Their presentation was part of STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) events in which they will complete in hopes of making it to Nationals. After competing at districts on February 6th, Jake, Alex, and Deaven, advanced to the State level, Along with Ashton Coltrane and Maggie Renn (who also competed in Star Events.) Which will be held in Wichita, Ks on April 7th. We wish them all the best of luck.
