Mr. Bowman’s PE classes have been doing a unit over volleyball which covers the basic skills, along with rules of the game. Something that is a little unusual is that many of the skills and techniques are taught by junior high volleyball athletes.

Those girls playing volleyball are the coaches and draft their teams. They then run drills and practice their team getting them ready for a tournament.

“I find that the volleyball girls that are now taking the coaches roll become a better player due to them having to teach and demonstrate the skills used in the game,” said Coach Bowman. “It’s also a lot of fun watching the interaction between the students.”
