The Assessed Value of property owned within the USD 247 territory has increased the past three years:
- 2012-2013 – $27.7 million
- 2013-2014 – $28.3 million
- 2014-2015 – $30.2 million
However, school districts are capped at how much funding they can generate through local funds via the Supplemental Fund. Like many school districts, USD 247 is already at that maximum. Also, as property valuation rises the amount of state aid goes down. And as enrollment goes down the legal maximums go down so the district has less money, not more.
Again, as enrollment declines the local taxes also decrease because USD 247 is at its maximum allowed amount.
Total enrollment at USD 247 is not expected to start leveling off until the 2021-2022 school year.
