Southeast beats Frontenac in Volleyball dual

The Southeast High School varsity volleyball team beat Frontenac in a best out of five dual on Thursday evening:  21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 8-25, 19-17.

“The girls played very well tonight – it was a great game to watch,” said Coach Maya White.  “As a coach I was very proud of the girls because they were doing a lot of skills we had been practicing.  They worked hard and played well.  They had a little mental break down in the 4th game but were able to come back in the 5th.  The girls are continuing to improve and both mentally and physically in the game.  It is great to see.”

Olivia Powell had 29 kills and 14 digs.  Madison Bone had 3 blocks and 50 assists.  Kalyn Bitner had 16 kills and 3 blocks.  Maggie Renn had 10 kills and 3 blocks.  Madison Thompson had 10 digs.  Katie Yancey had 7 digs.  And Kelsie Westervelt had 8 digs.

Southeast is now 9-13 for the season.

Their next matches are Tuesday October 7 versus Girard and Galena.  These will be at Southeast.
