Southeast Elementary PTO Minutes – October 2014

SOUTHEAST ELEMENTARY PTO MINUTES

October 7, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 6:10p.m. with the following members present; Elaine Humble, Cyndee Martin, Dorothy Smith, Carol Denham, Kathy Spahn, Tammie Hall, Carla Lewis, Joyce Fox, Suzanne Renn, Audrey Dietz, and Theresa Cassidy.

September minutes were read by Suzanne Renn.  Carol made a motion to approve the minutes as read and Joyce seconded.

Treasurer’s report was given by Elaine Humble

Beginning balance-$4066.10

Ending balance-$8706.41

Suzanne made a motion to approve the report and Theresa seconded.

 

OLD BUSINESS

  • T-Shirts
  • Orders will be distributed to students on 10-8-14.
  • T-shirt sales made a profit of $292.75
  • Can re-sale at carnival
  • School Carnival-November 13th, 2014
    • PTO will sell food; cinnamon rolls, chili, hotdogs, chips and drinks.
      • Need to set prices for food and meal combo.
      • Create volunteer list
      • Will look into getting 30 pounds of hamburger donated for chili
      • Teachers will send notes home for each class to create baskets
      • Will contact local grocery stores for pop/water donations
    • Parent-Teacher Conferences
      • Will order deli tray to pick-up on Monday
      • Parents can bring desserts
    • Book Fair
      • Dec 8-13th, 2014
    • Best Choice Labels/Boxtops
      • The order is ready to send in for re-imbursement of $700

NEW BUSINESS

  • Suzanne made a motion to contribute half of the cost to cover field trips to Pumpkin Patch for Pre-K to 3rd grade, the remaining half will be covered by the carnival fund. Elaine seconded.
  • Carol purchased 1000 pencils for incentives to collect labels for the amount of $220. Suzanne made a motion to reimburse her the above amount.  Dorothy seconded.
  • Stephanie will be sending a note to teachers to adjust the Scholastic orders if needed.
  • Establish guidelines for SES PTO- Tabled until next month

Dorothy made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 and Theresa seconded.
