Southeast students learn about weather from Doug Heady

KOAM/Fox 14 Chief Meteorologist Doug Heady visited Southeast Elementary School and Southeast Junior High School on Friday. In addition to explaining how tornadoes form (moisture, warm air, cold air, lift and instability) and why snow accumulation is so difficult to predict (temperatures), Heady also explained why he is afraid of lightning (he was struck by lightning as a child).

Before leaving he broke the news that Southeast will probably not get a Snow Day the rest of the school year.
