Around 25 schools and 650 students from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma competed in Wednesday’s 2015 MSSU Annual Business Contest, and the Southeast FBLA walked away with more hardware.
Sponsor Cherie Witt said the contest at Missouri Southern provides students the opportunity to compete against different competition.
“Competition and more practice will make them more confident to compete in the future,” Mrs. Witt said.
In the Individual Awards for the Freshmen Group, Sarah Clausen took 1st Place in Personal Finance; and, Caitlin Low took 2nd Place in Business Communications.
In the Team Awards for Division II, Caitlin Low, Dietrich Smith and Hannah Williams took 1st Place in Entrepreneurship Team; Katey Freeman and Camrin Sellers took 1st Place in Management Team; and Kalyn Bitner and Melanie Hartman took 2nd Place in Website Development Team.
As of Wednesday evening the Southeast FBLA was still relating on the final results from two other events – Job Interview and Public Speaking.
Wednesday’s success comes on the heels of last week’s Kansas State FBLA competition, where Southeast seniors Katie Horsman, Olivia Powell and Katie Yancey qualified for Nationals with their Business Presentation.
