Southeast announces Homecoming Court

Southeast High School is proud to announce the 2015 Lancer Football Homecoming Queen candidates:  Daria Stricklin, Wyntr Jacobs, Bailee Ulery and Sami Sullivan.  The Southeast Homecoming Queen Crowning will take place Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Southeast High School football field.  The Lancers kickoff against the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Daria Stricklin is a freshman at Southeast High School.  Her parents are David and Robin Stricklin, and Marina Stricklin is her sister.  Daria is a member of the Southeast Cross Country and Track & Field teams, the Southeast Marching Band, HOSA, KAYS, SAFE, and is a Lancer Cheerleader.  She is also a member of the Southeast FFA chapter and was recently named the Creed Speaking Champion and is now qualified for the State contest.  Her favorite class is Art and her favorite teacher is Mr. Scott Sutton.  Daria enjoys running, watching Netflix, spending time with her sister and says the best thing about high school is hanging out with friends.  Daria plans to attend Pittsburg State University and pursue a career in Physical Therapy.

Daria’s escort is Southeast senior Dylan Lawrence.  His parents are Nick and Krista Lawrence, and Anna and George Bookless.  Dylan’s siblings are Austin, Brock and Dakota Lawrence, and Ashley and Savana Bennett.  Dylan is a member of the Southeast Football and Baseball teams, as well as TRIO.  Dylan has lettered in both Baseball and Football for two years and already has a Welding Certificate from Fort Scott Community College.  His favorite class is Study Hall and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Denise Burns.  Dylan enjoys drag racing, Netflix and annoying his brothers and sisters.  Dylan said the best things about high school are his friends, building relationships with his coaches, bonfires, and annoying Mrs. Burns.  Dylan plans to attend college and play football, and watch more Disney Channel.

Wyntr Jacobs is a sophomore at Southeast High School.  Her parents are Sundown and Donna Jacobs, and Shado Jacobs is her brother.  Wynter is a member of the Southeast Volleyball and Softball teams, FFA, KAYS, and Student Council.  She also works for the Southeast Spirit Shack and is a member of the Southeast FBLA chapter.  Wynter was a state qualifier for FBLA Parliamentary Procedures, and was a member of a team that took first place at the Cherokee County Youth Entrepreneur Fair, and then second place at the Regional Entrepreneurship Challenge.  Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Cherie Witt and says her hobbies include hunting, playing sports and hanging out with friends.  Wyntr said the best things about high school are being involved in sports and seeing her friends every day.  Wynter plans to become an Ultrasound Technician.

Wyntr’s escort is Southeast senior Colton Paasch.  His parents are Mike and Carla Paasch, and his siblings are Cameron Paasch, and Cody and Courtney Covey.  Colton is a member of the Southeast Football and Basketball teams, as well as a member of FBLA and TSA.  He is a member of the A/B Honor Roll and said his favorite class is Sports Fitness, and his favorite teacher is Coach David Dainty.  He enjoys hanging out with friends and says the best things about high school are the students and teachers.  Colton plans to go to Pittsburg State University.

Bailee Ulery is a junior at Southeast High School.  Her parents are Joe and Beth Ulery, and Cade and Riley Ulery are her brothers.  Bailee is a member of the Southeast Volleyball and Basketball teams, as well as a member of FBLA, FCA, KAYS, the National Honor Society, SAFE, the Yearbook and works for the Southeast Spirit Shack.  She has been on the All A/B and All A Honor Roll, and Lancer Pride.  Her favorite teachers are Mrs. Starla Parsons and Mrs. Cherie Witt.  Bailee’s hobbies include watching Netflix and painting.  Bailee said the best thing about high school is hanging out with friends.  She plans to go to college and hopes to play volleyball.

Bailee’s escort is Southeast senior Cameron Paasch.  His parents are Mike and Carla Paasch.  His siblings are Colton Paasch, and Cody and Courtney Covey.  Cameron is a member of the Southeast Football team and FBLA, and works for the Southeast Spirit Shack.  Cameron was also a member of last year’s Wrestling Team – the first year Southeast has participated in the sport.  He is an All A and All A-B Honor Roll student.  He said his favorite class is Spanish 2, and his favorite teacher is Coach David Dainty.  Cameron’s hobbies include lifting, listening to music, hanging with friends and going to PSU games.  He says the best things about high school are all of the teachers and faculty, the school spirit, and the Senior Class of 2016.  Cameron plans to go to college, earn a living and live a great life.

Sami Sullivan is a senior at Southeast High School.  Her parents are Jason and Emily Sullivan.  Her siblings are Jake, Jude and Saydi Sullivan.  Sami is a member of the Southeast Volleyball and Softball teams, as well as FBLA, KAYS, the National Honor Society and Student Council.  She also works for the Southeast Spirit Shack. She has been on the All A and All A-B Honor Roll. She enjoys watching Netflix, listening to music and hanging out with friends and family.  Sami said her favorite teacher is Mrs. Cherie Witt and the best thing about high school is seeing her friends every day.  She plans to attend college to pursue a career in the medical field.

Sami’s escort is Southeast senior Andy Long.  His parents are Travis and Barbara Long.  His siblings are Abby, Addie, Allie and Alex Long.  Andy is a member of the Southeast Football and Basketball teams.  He is on the A-B Honor Roll.  His favorite class is Sports Fitness and his favorite teacher is Coach David Dainty.  Andy enjoys hunting and fishing, and says the best things about high school are seeing his friends every day and the amazing staff.  He also plans to attend college.
