SE Forensics results from Coffeyville; Goins qualifies for State

Members of the Southeast Speech and Debate Team traveled to Coffeyville on February 19-20 for a forensics tournament at Field Kindley High School. Individual results are as follows:

Jordan Wilson: 6th place, Humorous Interp.
Darcy Thacker: 4th place, Poetry.
Sara Goins: 1st place, Lincoln-Douglas Debate; and, 1st place, United States Extemp (NEW STATE QUALIFIER).
Ashleigh Fleck: 4th place, Original Oratory; 3rd place, Impromptu; 2nd place, Informative; and, 1st place, Congressional Debate.

“We had a pretty small entry this weekend, but we still posted some good results. I was particularly happy to see Darcy make it to finals after all we’ve been working on of late,” said Southeast Coach Gary Leiker. “It was also a lot of fun seeing Sara qualify for state in United States Extemp. Now we turn our attention to our own tournament on March 4-5. We’re always in need of judges, so if anyone can help us out please call the high school.”
