Another State competition is held, and nine more Southeast students have qualified for Nationals: senior Zoey Ball, junior Kyra Stewart, sophomores Daisy Burns, Sarah Clausen, Wyntr Jacobs, Caitlin Low and Hannah Williams, and freshmen Megan Colvin and Peyton Simpson have now qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference to be held June 29-July 2 in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Southeast FBLA chapter spent the past few days in Topeka for the FBLA State Leadership Conference, and sponsor Cherie Witt said, once again, it was a great trip. In addition to the six national qualifiers, several other students placed in the top 10 in the state for their category.
“I’m very proud of all those that competed and how they represented Southeast at State,” said Southeast FBLA chapter sponsor Cherie Witt. “We have the best kids.”
Once again, Zoey Ball opened the state conference by singing the National Anthem. She went on to place 2nd overall in the state of Kansas in Sales Presentation, as well as 5th in Job Interview. The team of Sarah Clausen, Wyntr Jacobs and Caitlin Low placed 3rd overall in Business Plan Team. The team of Megan Colvin and Peyton Simpson placed 3rd overall in Introduction to Business Presentation Team. The team of junior Kyra Stewart and sophomores Daisy Burns and Hannah Williams, placed 4th in Social Media Team. The top 4 in each category qualify for the FBLA Nationals.
Placing in the top 10 overall in the state of Kansas were: first year member, sophomore Eric Underwood, used his FFA knowledge to place 6th in Agribusiness; senior Erin Horgan placed 7th in Public Speaking II; and, sophomore Jake Burns placed 8th in Introduction to Financial Math.
During the FBLA State Leadership Conference, the Southeast chapter also presented a $300 check to the March of Dimes.
