2 qualify for State Music (watch performances)

Junior Madison Westervelt and freshman Brody Newswander will represent Southeast High School at the KSHSAA State Music Festival on April 23 in Salina. To qualify, Westervelt received a I for Treble Vocal and Newswander received a I for euphonium at the KSHSAA Regional Solo & Small Ensemble Festival held at Pittsburg State on April 9.

Other Southeast results: freshman Katura Amershek received a III on Flute; junior Morgan Leeper received a III on Flute; the Low Brass Ensemble of seniors Bryson Spahn and Taylor Stanley, and freshmen Elias Newport and Alex Rice received a II; Rice received a II on saxaphone; Stanley received a II on Low Brass; Newswander received a II in vocal; sophomore Cady Lloyd received a IV in vocal; sophomore Robyn Nabors received a II in vocal; freshman Peyton Simpson received a II in vocal; and, the Flute Trio of Westervelt and freshmen Isabella Friemel and Daria Stricklin received a II.
