PTO Minutes May 3, 2016

Present:  Tammie Hall, Joyce Fox, Dorothy Smith, Katie Locke, Elaine Humble.

Dorothy called the meeting to order at 6:20.

Discussion regarding election of PTO officers and how to get more parent involvement in PTO for 2016-2017 school year.

Treasurer’s report was read by Elaine.  Ending balance of $9,238.76.  Savings balance $3,002.11.  Dorothy moved to accept report, Joyce seconded.

Old Business

• Playground – Will start this summer to remove rock and add equipment. Hall is to contact Leisure Time to check prices, etc. for shade options.  There is $1,600 from Pennies for PTO fundraiser to spend on a shade apparatus.
• Summer movie tickets – These are not available this year due to new management at Pittsburg theater.
• Scholarship – Kaci Coots will present PTO scholarships on May 6.

New Business

• Teacher appreciation gifts – $5 Sonic gift cards will be given to all staff. Dorothy moved to buy all staff a $5 gift card, Katie seconded.  Elaine will purchase and Mrs. Hall will distribute.
• Summer meeting – Enrollment is August 9 and 10. Back to School Bash tentative date is August 22.  Hall will let us know official date.
• Field trips – Elaine withdrew $328 total for SES student field trips, $2 per student, and gave to office.
• T-shirt design – Mrs. Fox will ask 4^th graders to submit a t-shirt design idea. Dorothy will get quotes from different t-shirt companies and through e-mail over the summer officers will decide on a design to be ready to order in August 2016.
• Campbell’s label final send in – Elaine will contact Mrs. Denham about the final batch of Campbell’s labels to be sent.
