School Bus Races scheduled for September 3

Calling all Lancers… the School Bus Races at Humboldt Speedway has been scheduled for September 3, 2016.  Southeast is the returning champion in the Kids Bus Pull, took 3rd in the Spirit Contest, and after taking 3rd last year in the races, driver Ken Snyder now has his bus and plans to have it ready to go.

There will be a new event this year – a team Chariot Race relay.  Students will pull a rickshaw around the Humboldt Speedway in relay fashion:  Two will ride and two will pull for 1/4 of the track.  At that point the students will trade positions and the 2nd group will pull for another 1/4 of the track.  That group of four will then rotate with another group of four, who will repeat the process.

There will be multiple heats and the winning team will be decided by the fastest time.  First place wins $1,000, 2nd place wins $500 and 3rd place wins $250.  There will also be a $100 prize awarded to the best dressed team.

We have confirmed the Class of 2016 may participate in all student activities.
