“Who wants to smell my gas?”
This one wisecrack tells you everything you need to know about the science presentation held at the Outback Survivor Camp at Southeast Elementary School in Weir on Wednesday. To say the campers were in awe is not fair to Stephen Cox – aka “Super Steve” of Super Science based in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
There was a Van De Graat generator, a tornado race (girls won in a controversial 3-2 decision), Martian snow, a trash can air cannon, a toilet paper gun (toilet paper + plunger + leaf blower), and much much more, all used in a one hour “show” to get kids interested in science.
Science, Super Steve said afterward, is simply the study about everything around us and how it works, and “you can’t get enough knowledge”.
