At the Kansas Reading Roadmap Convention the USD 247 Southeast Elementary summer program was honored for having the best theme. SES built their theme around the popular TV show “Survivor”.
Southeast’s “Survivor Outback: Outplay Outlast Outread” included dividing the students into tribes, which were named after Australian animals and had their own chants, as well as tribal competitions and councils.
The Southeast program had been nominated in three categories: Family Engagement, Enthusiasm and Theme Creations.
