The Southeast Lancers would like to welcome everyone to the 2016 Fall Homecoming on Friday, October 14. A hamburger and hot dog fundraiser for the Southeast FFA chapter starts at 5 p.m. The Homecoming Queen Coronation is at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff versus the Riverton Rams is at 7:00 p.m. This year’s queen candidates are freshman Ashlyn Cassidy, sophomore Jaiden Gregory, junior Laura Ridings, and senior Elizabeth Fornelli.
Freshman candidate Ashlyn Cassidy is the daughter of Darin and Theresa Cassidy. She has two sisters – Peyton and Kinzey. Ashlyn’s school activities include FBLA, FCA, FFA and KAYS. Her honors include All A Honor Roll. Her favorite class is Business, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Witt. Her hobbies include hunting, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. Ashlyn’s favorite thing about high school is getting to spend time with all her friends. Ashlyn’s future plans include attending a university and pursuing a wildlife career.
Escorting Ashlyn is Senior Logan Oplotnik. Logan is the son of Angie and Caleb Tollette and Jeremy and Christy Oplotnik. He has two siblings, Tori and Gage. Logan has played football for Southeast all four years. His favorite class is English, and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Brunetti. His hobbies include video games and reading. Logan feels his favorite things about high school are learning and meeting new people. After high school, Logan plans on going to school to be an electrician.
Our sophomore candidate is Jaiden Gregory, the daughter of Jim and Jessica Gregory. Jaiden has five siblings – Jordan, Justin, Liberty, Zachary and Kearstin. Her activities include FCA, KAYS, Jazz Band and Marching Band. Jaiden is also a member of the Southeast Cross Country and Softball teams. Jaiden’s awards include lettering in Softball her freshman year, and A/B honor roll. Her favorite class is Jazz Band, and her favorite teachers are Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Brunetti. Jaiden’s hobbies are dancing and laughing with her best friends; and feels that those friends are also her favorite thing about high school. Her plans after graduation are to pursue a degree in elementary education.
Escorting Jaiden is Junior Austin Hunt. Austin is the son of Bill Hunt and has two siblings – Codi and Hollie. His school activities include Football, Basketball, Track, TSA and FBLA. His favorite class is AV Fundamentals and Video, and his favorite teacher is Mr. Coots. Austin’s hobbies include watching Netflix, playing fantasy football and hanging out with friends. Austin’s favorite thing about high school is Video class. When asked what his plans were after high school, Austin replied “I’m not sure, I still have another year to decide.”
Our junior candidate is Laura Ridings. Laura is the daughter of Ryan and Patty Ridings. Her school activities include Volleyball, Softball, FBLA, FFA, FCA, STUCO, TSA and Spirit Shack. Her honors and awards include Lancer Pride, National Honor Society, two year – FFA Officer, FBLA state competitor and TSA State 5th place finish in Children’s Story and Top 10 finish in Photography. Laura’s favorite class is Video and her favorite teacher is Mr. Coots. Her hobbies include sports, sleeping and hanging out with her friends. Laura feel the best thing about high school is being part of a school that allows her to participate in so many clubs and sports. Laura’s future education plans are to attend college to be a physical therapist.
Escorting Laura is Senior Colton Trejo. Colton is the son of Jonna Gomez and Benney Gomez, and has two siblings – Brianna and Benney Jr. Colton’s school activities include Football, Basketball, Baseball, FBLA and TSA. His honors include Football CNC Honorable Mention and Baseball CNC Honorable Mention Outfielder. Colton’s favorite class is Video Production and his favorite teacher is Mr. Coots. Colton’s hobbies include work and sports, and his favorite thing about high school is spending time with his friends. After graduation, Colton plans on attending college to pursue a double major in Sports Medicine and Youth Ministry.
Our Senior Candidate is Elizabeth Fornelli. She is the daughter of Kate Fornelli, and the granddaughter of Ken Snyder and Cathy Snyder. Elizabeth has one sibling – Hope Sluder. Her school activities include Volleyball Manager, HOSA, FBLA, Spirit Shack, Yearbook, KAYS, FCA and National Honor Society. Her honors include All A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, Lancer Pride and the American Legion Citizenship Award. Her favorite class is Yearbook, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Witt. Elizabeth’s primary hobby is racing her Top alcohol dragster. Elizabeth feels the best thing about high school is making memories with all of her friends. After graduation, Elizabeth plans to attend Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri to become a Surgeon.
Elizabeth’s escort is Senior Caleb Fenimore. Caleb is the son of Todd Fenimore and Billie Fenimore. He has one sibling, his older brother Austin. Caleb’s school activities include Football, Basketball, Baseball and TSA. His awards include State TSA 1st place finish and TSA National 5th place finish in Digital Video Production. Caleb’s hobbies include hanging out with friends; and Pitt-Naz Wednesday night Youth Group. Caleb plans on attending Pittsburg State University next fall.
