“We need your help,” Southeast 7th grader Hailee Green told Mrs. Ward’s 8th grade English class. “We need your old jackets and coats. They will be donated to the Salvation Army. We also need your help collecting box tops and Ron’s receipts.”
Hailee is a member of the Recycle America class at Southeast Junior High. The class does several “reuse” activities throughout the semester, including making scarecrows and snowmen out of scrap material, but right now they are working to help with two community service projects.
The Salvation Army is doing a coat drive so the students are asking for gently used coats and jackets that still look nice but are maybe outgrown. These can be taken to the library at the Southeast Junior High before November 22.
The junior high students are also asking for help in collecting box tops, Ron’s receipts, Best Choice bar codes, Coke points and pop tabs. These will be taken to Southeast Elementary School and exchanged for money to help with various projects there.
