During this season of generosity area Southeast families have been helping those less fortunate in several ways. Now, with the colder temperatures, we’ve learned that Wesley House in Pittsburg is in need of around 1,000 blankets to distribute to the areas homeless.
“If the entire Southeast district could come together we could really help them and make a difference,” says SHS HOSA adviser Jessica Mayfield.
Wesley House currently has between 300 and 400 blankets. If you have any new or gently/used warm blankets you would be willing to donate please take them to the main office of any one of the Southeast schools before December 9.
One-hundred and fifty pounds of food items collected by the SHS Future Health Professionals chapter (HOSA) has already been donated to Wesley House in Pittsburg. Plus, several gently used coats have been collected by the SJHS Recycle America class to be given to the Salvation Army – enough to fill a large trash container.
Thank you to everyone who has given.
