Six Lancers qualify for TSA Nationals; including 2 State Champions

CORRECTED: Junior Kyler Spahn will be attending his 3rd TSA Nationals

SALINA, Kan. – Six Southeast High School students with five entries in a total of four events qualified to participate at the State TSA competition in Salina this week. All qualified for Nationals in their categories, including two state champions.

In the five years SHS has been with TSA, a team has qualified for Nationals in video all five years, and they now have four straight state champions. Senior Truman Buckley, and juniors Kyler Spahn, Eric Underwood and Brody Wood took 1st place in Digital Video Production. This is Spahn’s 3rd year in a row qualifying for Nationals.

Southeast TSA sponsor Brad Coots said while this was only the second year they competed in Photographic Technology, junior Eric Underwood came away with 1st place, and junior Hannah Williams took 3rd place.

Senior Truman Buckley, juniors Kyler Spahn and Brody Wood, and sophomore Julie Martin took 2nd place in On Demand Video.

And junior Hannah Williams and sophomore Julie Martin took 4th place in Children’s Stories.

The 2017 National TSA Conference and Competition will be held June 21-25 in Orlando, Florida.
