Southeast students, parents, and fans packed the stands at the Humboldt Speedway on Saturday and had plenty to cheer about bringing home $2700 in prize money. The Lancers started out the night by winning the bus pull competition with a time just over 13 seconds! But that was only the beginning and later in the evening the Lancers took first in the high school division of the chariot races and third in the middle school division. Setting the standard for school spirit, the Lancer fans showed up big time for the school spirit competition, drowning out their nearest competitor by more than 2 decibels! I love our Lancer fans!
During the bus racing competitions, Southeast driver Ken Synder gave driving lessons throughout the night winning both of his heat races and taking first in the feature race of the evening! In one race, Synder was positioned dead last, but after just a few laps he had managed to work his way into first place and from there he never looked back! Way to go Ken!
