The Southeast FFA Chapter officers attended the 90th National FFA Convention on October 25, 2017- October 28th 2017. We attended the Worlds Toughest Rodeo the first evening, where we sat front row and saw professional bull riders, bareback, and saddle bronc riders compete. A professional bull jumper also competed, he is the only professional of his kind. The next morning we attended opening session. Laila Ali was the motivational speaker, talking about her life as a female boxer. During the day we went through the college and career expo. We also went to the FFA mall. That evening we attended the 2nd session where the National Secretary gave her retiring address. The officers also attended a student leadership workshop over parliamentary procedure. On the third day we toured Kelsay Farms in Whiteland, Indiana. We gained information on how they go through the day and the processes that they have to take to work on a dairy farm. They have over 400 dairy cows on theor farm and over 2,800 acres of crops. They also had a pumpkin patch and a corn maze to go through. At the end of the tour we received a signature Kelsay Farms milkshake. That evening we attended another session where the Souther Region Vice President gave his retiring address. Jon Petz was the motivational speaker. On the last day we headed home. We stopped in St. Louis and toured the Gateway Arch.
