Three students in the Southeast High School Community Connections course (part of the Family & Consumer Sciences program) have been studying child development recently. They created a mini-lesson and traveled to Weir to visit Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Wyckoff’s morning preschool class.
Jacob Trayer, Norma Tavernaro, and Alex Rice led the 10 preschoolers in activities focused on “thankfulness”. They discussed what they’re thankful for, created coffee filter watercolor turkeys, played a matching alphabet game, and read Thanksgiving-themed books.
The high school students enjoyed their morning with the preschoolers and look forward to visiting monthly throughout the school year. They will also be helping the preschoolers assemble their Thanksgiving meal next week, as well as talking about nutritious foods.
