SES 2nd Graders and “The Great Shake-Up!”

Southeast 2nd Graders attended a science learning experience at Greenbush last week.  It  was called, Mastermind:  Finding Real-World Solutions.  Students had to think, plan, sketch, label, design, and construct a building with certain materials, trying to make them earthquake resistant.  Each group tested their design on an earthquake simulator to see if it would withstand the strong earthquake.  If it fell apart, they were given a chance to adjust their plan and add one more thing to their structure to make it stronger.  The second graders enjoyed “The Great Shake-Up!”
