Culinary Students Enter Pie Competition

Students in Mrs. Holden’s Family & Consumer Sciences Classes (Nutrition & Wellness and Culinary Arts)


have been learning how to make homemade pie this week. They selected recipes and entered their creations in the Weir Homecoming Pie Contest this weekend.

Students not only learned how to make pies through this project but also developed and practiced their skills in technical reading, measuring, collaboration and teamwork, problem-solving, delegating, communicating, and experimenting.

Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie: Mariah Brooks & Gabby Turpen (this pie won 3rd place at the competition!)
