USD 247 Provides School Supplies
At their regular board of education meeting on Monday, July 13, the USD 247 Board of Education approved a recommendation from superintendent, Dr. Brad Miner, to provide consumable school supplies to all students as they return to school this fall. According to Dr. Miner, the board of education understands that many of our families have a lot of things on their plate in dealing with the coronavirus and this may be one small way for the district to help out during these trying times. Therefore, you will not find a school supply list at local vendors this year for USD 247.
Also partnering with USD 247 to provide school supplies is the First Baptist Church of Cherokee. Dr. Miner mentioned that the First Baptist Church has assisted in providing school supplies to district students for several years and we are very grateful for their generosity and appreciate the opportunity to partner with them.
Southeast students will still need parents to provide the following items:
Southeast Elementary School: Back Pack (all grades), Over-sized t-shirt for painting projects (2nd grade only – does not need to be new).
Southeast Middle School: Back Packs recommended, Trapper Keeper Notebook, and White or Gray shirt and black shorts for PE (7th & 8th grade)
Southeast High School: Back Packs recommended and T-shirt and tennis shoes for PE (9th grade and 10th through 12th if enrolled in PE)
Note: Additional questions concerning school supplies may be emailed to each building principal.
