Salvation Army Wants to Help This Christmas
The Salvation Army needs help in spreading the word about this year’s Christmas Distribution to Crawford County families who have students in our schools. Due to COVID-19, they will be doing things a little differently for this year to accommodate health and safety standards. Please read the important information below and click the link for more details.
Important Information:
· Families with children MUST sign up at Salvation Army because we will be giving out the toys and gift items for each child as well as food for the family. The flier (see the link) gives details for sign up during the first two weeks of November.
· In the past, sign ups were done at either Salvation Army or Wesley House and a joint distribution was held at the P.S.U. Recreation Center/Armory gym, but this year the distribution will be two separate events. Salvation Army will be giving away BOTH toys and food by curbside pickup at Salvation Army. Wesley House is giving away only food at their facility and doing a separate signup on their own.
· When signing up at Salvation Army, families will offer suggestions for toys/gifts for their children on the application. The toys/gifts will be pre-boxed by volunteers at Salvation Army instead of parents picking out toys.
· Each family will receive an appointment time to pick up toys and food curbside at Salvation Army in Pittsburg during the week of December 14.
